Ellen DeGeneres Did Not Have A Heart Attack — Report

Ellen DeGeneres did not have a heart attack, but 911 was called today after the star had chest pains during a producer’s meeting at Warner Brothers The LGBT icon is 53-​years old and the star of The Ellen Show, which is entering its ninth season TMZ reports, “Someone from Ellen’s staff called 911, and the Burbank Fire Department dispatched a crew to the scene at 11:53 am,” and adds, “We’re told Ellen is doing fine She was seen walking on her own after the Fire Dept left”

Last week, DeGeneres interviewed fellow lesbian celebrity Wanda Sykes In an interview that aired today, Sykes told Ellen that she had had breast cancer, and opted for a double mastectomy

Maldonado will serve 4 years’ probation

A former Youngstown State University student accused of receiving tuition remission to which he was not entitled will pay the money back and spend four years on probation.

Anthony J. Maldonado, 25, of Bev Road, Boardman, appeared Thursday for sentencing before Judge James C. Evans of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Maldonado had been charged with two counts of falsification and one count each of grand theft and tampering with records but ultimately pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor falsification in a theft offense.

Surveillance cameras show Mendocino murder suspect at remote cabin

FORT BRAGG, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say surveillance cameras have captured an image of the fugitive suspected of killing a Northern California city councilman and a land trust manager.

The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office on Monday told the Santa Rosa Press Democrat it believes the picture is of Aaron Bassler, for whom authorities have been scouring area forests since the shootings in August.

Deputies have been searching a 400-square-mile area for weeks, and have installed 40 cameras to aid their search.

In the photo, Bassler appears to be holding a high-caliber rifle and vandalizing a cabin.

Bassler is suspected of fatally shooting 69-year-old Fort Bragg City Councilman Jere Melo on Aug.

El Monte man convicted of killing prostitute

EL MONTE – An El Monte man was convicted Thursday of beating and strangling to death a 24-year-old prostitute in her hotel room.

A jury found Cesar Gomez, 36, guilty of murder with the special circumstance that the killing occurred during a robbery.

Orange County District Attorney officials said Gomez faces life in prison without parole at his Dec. 2 sentencing.

Gomez met the victim, Ashley Lilly, via an escort website and set up a meeting. Lilly had checked into the Crown Plaza Anaheim Resort in Garden Grove on Aug. 19, 2009.

Authorities said Gomez was at the hotel either the night of Aug. 20, 2009 or early morning Aug. 21, 2009. He severely beat Lilly and strangled her. She wasn’t sexually assaulted.
